Angel trees, department decorating contests, Santa & Mrs Claus, lots of good food and fellowship…these were all YGS happenings during this wonderful rush of the holiday season.
Generous collections for Toys for Tots and the SPCA demonstrate the giving spirit of our associates. Also, our angel tree was very successful in allowing our associates the opportunity to reach out to coworkers.
The department decorating contest was a great exhibit of creativity and holiday spirit. Content Management won “Most Creative,” the mailroom won “Best Use of Space,” Media Sales won “Best Theme” and hand bindery won “Most Festive.”
A delicious meal of roast beef, stuffed chicken, au gratin potatoes, and all the trimmings were served by the executive team to both shifts and enjoyed by all in a beautifully decorated meeting room.
The event of the day was the Santa Social. Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrived by fire truck with sirens blaring and 35 children, with their beloved adults in tow, were present to enjoy the festivities. An elf who unicycles and another who handed out gifts, stories read by Mrs. Claus, cookies, movies, crafts and most of all, Santa’s listening ear were a joy for all who were here.
Thank you to the Merriment Committee and all who participated in these events which allow us the opportunity to take a moment and get to know each other a little bit better.
