Brainstorm Begins: A Sneak Peek into 2015

The New Year is fast approaching, which is how it happens every year around this time. The clock striking twelve on January 1 signals a time for us to reflect on the past year and strive to improve the next. And so it is for the YGS blog.

As a writing student in college, I struggled with starting writing assignments in a timely fashion. There’s something exhilarating for (most) writers about brainstorming for weeks only to come up a blank document with 8 hours until the deadline. My plan for 2015 is to never be in that crunch when it comes to this blog. There are so many resources here in the YGS building alone, I would be a fool to not write a blog about every single one of them. To expedite my planning process, I started a theme calendar to track my posts and never get behind. The calendar is filling up with some exciting possibilities.

The theme calendar is just one of the tools I plan to include in an upcoming post on organizational tools –for both the office and everyday life. You’ll get tips and tricks from YGS employees about how to start 2015 off with a blank slate and a clean desk. Stay tuned for that post coming up in January!

There are so many unique products and services that YGS offers. I’m eager to gather the intel from the experts here and relay everything I’ve learned about our MAP service, the Total Solutions package, and features of each department in the office. These posts are scattered throughout the year, so be sure to follow us on social media so you’re one of the first to know they’re up!

One of the ideas I’m most excited about is starting a quarterly “resource review.” Stemmed from the concept of a book review, these posts will get in touch with one person in the YGS community who regularly uses a resource that has changed the way they operate. I wanted to branch out from the narrow book review, because we have so many self-help opportunities in tech and social media. Be on the lookout for the latest apps, Twitter feeds, and podcasts that can improve you and the way you do business. I’ll never turn down a great book recommendation, though, so those are welcome, too!

I look forward to bringing consistent, informative content to you throughout 2015. My theme calendar isn’t complete, though! Please contact me if you have an idea for a blog, have information to share, or want to be featured in a resource review.

Onward to 2015!
